+ HQ signed the Formulation Authorization Document (FAD).
+ Mission Confirmation Review complete.
+ Mission Confirmation Readiness Review completed.
+ KSC signed contract for the Taurus XL, under SELVS.
+ HQ authorized the full Glory Mission on a dedicated Taurus-class LV.
+ Mission and Observatory and APS Preliminary Design Review (PDR) were successfully completed. + Project studied APS and TIM as flight-of-opportunity on NPOESS.
+ TIM Critical Design Review (CDR) successfully completed.

+ Project studied both flight-of-opportunity and stand-alone mission scenarios
+ GSFC identified VCL spacecraft as viable option - Spacecraft met requirements for both the Aerosol Polarimetry Sensor and the Total Irradiance Monitor
+ Solar Irradiance Gap Filler (SIGF) mission was combined with Aerosol mission
+ HQ authorized the Project to proceed with stand-alone mission. (6/4/03)
+ Included in President' s FY04 Budget submission as a line item to study Aerosols. HQ directed GSFC to study the implementation of President' s initiative.
